Packing & Shipping Hints
- Carefully pack your entries in a sturdy box. Line the inside of your carton with a plastic trash bag. Partition and pack each bottle with adequate packaging material. Do not over pack! Write clearly: "Fragile. This Side Up." on the package. Your package should weigh less than 25 pounds. Please refrain from using "messy" packaging materials such a Styrofoam "peanuts" or pellets; please use packaging material such as bubble wrap.
- Every reasonable effort will be made to contact entrants whose bottles have broken to make arrangements for sending replacement bottles.
- It is not against any Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) regulations or federal laws to ship your entries via privately owned shipping company for analytical purposes. However, IT IS ILLEGAL TO SHIP ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES VIA THE U.S. POSTAL SERVICE. Private shipping companies have the right to refuse your shipment if they are informed that the package contains glass and/or alcoholic beverages. Be aware that entries mailed internationally are often required by customs to have proper documentation. These entries might be opened and/or returned to the shipper by customs' officials at their discretion. It is solely the entrant's responsibility to follow all applicable laws and regulations.

Awards
Awards:
Gold, Silver and Bronze medals, designed just for this event, will be awarded in each category. Additionally, a best in show award for beer, a best mead/cider award will be given and a crowd favorite will be voted on at the event. All awards will be presented at the Fest on Feb 19 along with scoresheets. If you are not present, they will be mailed to you.
Homebrew/Awards Fest:
This is the fun part!
Homebrew entrants, judges and stewards and one guest get into the festival for free! It's at 5:30PM on Feb 19 at the Peterson Club. We are asking that all entrants bring some of their brew to share with other brewers and festival attendees. Recommend you bring at least 24, 12oz bottles, a couple growlers or the keg equivalent to share on Feb 19, 2010. Ideally, it would be some of the beer you entered in the competition. You'll be serving next to some of our local micros and there will be prizes for the crowd favorites. All brewers will be responsible for dispensing their beer to festival guests. Size of pour will be no more than 2 oz. The Peterson Club will provide booth space for each entrant to serve their beer - call the Club to let them know that you need booth space.
